According to the official website of the Squash Federation, the election assembly of the West Asian Squash Confederation was held today in Kish Island with the presence of 9 countries, and finally Amir Azizipour, the president of the Iranian Federation, was elected as the president of the West Asian Confederation.
Ali Jihad, the head of the Iraqi Squash Federation, was also elected as the vice-chairman by the members’ vote. Also, the assembly gave this authority to Azizipour to choose the general secretary and heads of the committees.
Squash, which has made its way to the world’s biggest event since the 2028 Olympics, has received more attention these days than before, and the presence of the head of the Iran Squash Federation at the head of the West Asian Confederation can be considered a good thing in such circumstances.
